IMPLANT RETAINED CROWNS
IMPLANT RETAINED DENTURES
Implant -What are they?

Dental implants are titanium screws which are fixed directly into the jaw bone. These are usually placed under local anaesthetic. The implants are left to integrate with the bone for about three/four months. Following the placement of implants no denture can be worn for two weeks.

The implants are then uncovered and healing abutments are fitted. These protrude through the gum and allow access to the implants in the bone. The gum is left to heal for about two months when the second stages of the implants are fitted.

Implant retained bridges

The second stages are screwed into the implants and act as the link between the implants and the bridgework. Impressions are taken and the bridgework is fabricated in the laboratory. The bridgework is held in place by small gold screws which are screwed into the second stages of the implants.
